Rendez-vous with Nico

Recently, I saw my friend Nico again. It was great!

• Nico, what are you doing here? You've disappeared! You haven't changed, you're just as cute as when we first met Elisa.

It was as if we'd left each other the day before, telling each other our travel memories, and it was a precious instant.

• I always knew you were cool! When you and Elisa sang Gilbert Montagné's "Sous le sunlight des tropiques" while dancing in a tiny street in Kho Phi Phi, Thailand, you were “top les filles”!

• What a wonderful memory! I'd just taken a Thai cooking course and seen you and Elisa, while at the same time seeing some French people I'd met a few days earlier in Bangkok! We all laughed and celebrated together. What a party!

We were laughing out loud at our stories. He continued, recalling their Montreal escapade together:

• You got me into a church knowing I was Muslim

• Religion doesn't stop you from appreciating the architecture of a building,” I replied.

• You wanted me to eat bacon!

• Bacon is good.

• Montreal was amazing, but Miami was wow!

He continued:

• While me and Elisa were flirting with these singles in Miami, you were dancing like no one was watching you with this stranger. You were glowing on the dance floor, people were admiring you. 

• It was strange for me to be approached by a guy walking down the street, “eh, you are the dancing queen from Mangos, you are such a wonderful dancer”! Really,” I replied, thinking he was making fun of me! The funny thing about all this, Nico, is that I don't even know how to dance, I just move in any old way, I'm just having fun!

We laughed so hard... we each took turns remembering those magical moments with our cosmic sister Élisa. We hugged one another.

• It was good to see you again, I miss you Nico!

I became nostalgic. He disappeared from my dream just as he disappeared from this world many years ago. We don't know what happened to him. I consider myself lucky that Nico visited me while I was in Morpheus' arms and that I could count on his beautiful friendship.

When I woke up, I was happy to have felt him near me, and I told him:
